Over the past year there is a lot to be thankful for. First and foremost, Finding God and learning to believe in him. I’m thankful for the family, for friends, and for all of you who read this blog.
Have a Merry Christmas everyone.
Lying. We’ve all done it, and for some of us, its become a habit. There is a 36 year old woman in my extended family who has allowed Satan to control her and mold her since she was 18. She was a party animal and they type of woman any man might think they’d have a pretty good chance with.
She rebuked the Lord for so many years and her deceit was great. She lay with married men and took pleasure in it. She caused divorces and dissent in families. In the end, after a college career and full MBA in “Adultery” and ”Sin”, She found her way back to God, but not after serious costs to her wellbeing and psyche.
10 Whoever misleads the upright into an evil way
will fall into his own pit.
As we were reading during children’s bible studies today, my son came across a verse that really spoke to him.
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
– 1 Samuel 16:7 NKJV
He read this and said to us, “If everyone in the world could do as God did, we’d all love each other.”
Psalms 40:1-4 NKJV
1 I waited patiently for the Lord ;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
3 He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord .
Blessed is that man who makes the Lord his trust,
And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
Remember when you were just a grunt? Perhaps you’re like me and still a grunt. For those of you in power, and I don’t mean political power so much as being a manager or supervisor in the workplace.
It’s important to remember that you deal with human people, not robots, and the way you treat those under you (or around you) really says it all about you.
If you are one who truly believes and follows the Word of God, then you will know that there is the cardinal rule “Do unto others as you have them do unto you”, but Proverbs 29:2 just reinforces that statement for us.
Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
5 “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, 6 but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.”
4 Gladden the soul of your servant,
for to you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
5 For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you.
